Summer RV trip 2015

Traveling again in our 'new to us' motorhome.  Left July 11.  Stayed first night at Route 66 Casino West of Albuquerque where it was cool enough we did not need to plug in. The second day we stopped briefly at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.  I have heard of this scuba diving area and, even through I have passed thru many times, I had never stopped.  It is a very small "hole" 61 feet across and 81feet deep.  Since it was a hot day there was lots of swimmers taking advantage of the clear cool water.

The second night was at the Tucumcari Elks, plugging in because of the heat.  Day three we again stayed at an Elks and visited my cousin in Amarillo.

We spent a week at the Pecan Grove RV park in my hometown of Chickasha, Oklahoma.  The rates were more than we were used too but it was the only park with vacancies and we needed to plug in.  The air conditioning ran 24/7 for 7 days.  Very hot and humid there.  We visited my stepmom and my brother and his wife in Okla. City and saw some friends and relatives.

During the next two weeks in Kansas we parked at Melvern Lake close to Dean's brother's farm. We visited Dean's mom(who lives at the brother Tom's house), brother Tom's family, youngest daughter Suzie  and her family, and attended Dean's 50th high school reunion of Roosevelt High in Emporia.

This last week in Kansas was at Atchinson spending time with oldest daughter, Stephanie, and her family.  We stayed at Lewis and Clark state park across the state line in Missouri.  Grandson Landon came to the rig and spent a lot of time with Chica.  The highlight of the stay in Atchison was our last day when daughter Suzie came up with her family to Stephanie's and we celebrated two of the grandkids birthdays - Ethan (16) and Lane (13). It was very special to have both daughters and family's together while we were there.

I was taking the picture.

Now we are on the road to Oregon.
