Here it is June already.  Time is flying by.  Dean and I have been working on the house in Prescott a lot.  I have painted one room and Dean (with some help from contractors) has remodeled the old porch to an Arizona room.  Little by little we are getting this place the way we want it.
We did go to the cabin with about 14 of our friends for Memorial Day.  Last year it snowed most of the time.  This year it rained most of the time.  We got a change to play rings and do some hikes.

We have been enjoying the summer events of Prescott.  One weekend was the wine tasting at Granite Creek winery in Prescott Valley.  These are pictures of the group that we hang around with in Prescott and one picture of Dean and Dick Mordino at the winery.

We have been trying to do a different hike a week.  So far we have done three different hikes.  One of these was Thumb Butte which is a landmark of Prescott.  The hike is in the West part of town and has great overlooks of Prescott.

OK so long for now.  Got to get ready for girl's weekend at the cabin.  I will post pictures of this next week.

Hi everyone out there in cyberville.  We are still in Prescott and working on the house.  I finished painting the guest bedroom and have bought a sewing machine so I can do some decorating.  Dean is working on a watering system for trees and plants.  The weather is cool and windy today but last week it was drop dead gorgeous here.  No trips in sight except a trip next week to Phx. for dentist and doctor appointments.  In 2 weeks we are going to the cabin for our annual Memorial bash.

It is a beautiful day in Prescott!  Finally we are having good weather.
Dean is working on taking out trees and putting in new ones.
I am going to start painting one bedroom tomorrow.
We had our friends Richard and Carole up this weekend.
Chica is doing fine.

Almost one year later

Almost a year later and I am finally adding to our blog.  A lot had happened in the past year.

My Dad had his 88th birthday and Judy's family went to Oklahoma to celebrate the occasion.

We bought a house in Prescott.

I went to Peru to help in a children's shelter and travel to interesting places like Machu Picchu with 4 friends.

Now, Dean and I are on an RV trip at Rye, AZ, with two very good friends, Chuck and Jan Moore.  We have done a lot of hiking, talking playing cards and I learned beading.

Dean and I are spending the summer at the cabin at forest lakes, Arizona.  For those of you that do not know Forest Lakes - we are about 90 miles from Phoenix and 20 to 30 degrees cooler. Forest Lakes is located on the Mogollon Rim at 7600 ft.  We have one of the largest Ponderosa Pine forest in the country.  It is not unusual to have snow here any time during the year.  These pictures were taken on Memorial Day weekend when we had 8-10 inches in 3 days.  This is always a big weekend with a lot of our friends - we had 17 in and around (RV's) the cabin.  so we stayed on the back porch most of the weekend.
But we did take some hikes in the snow.

During the month of May we did a road trip back to the midwest to see relatives.  Dean's family had a family reunion in Arkansas.  This is a picture of Dean's two brothers -
Tom and Richard - and Dean's mother, Marge.  This was the only fish that was caught over the weekend - but it was enough to have a great meal.

The cabin was very spacious with a huge deck over looking the water.
